Equal Access International trained and the capacity of community active citizens in a 3-day hands-on workshop on trauma healing and response. The training equipped northern youth with the skills, and knowledge to provide basic psychosocial support to traumatized individuals in their communities.
Participants comprised largely of youth and 43.5% of women nominated by stakeholders of communities affected by one form of violence or another and they have volunteered to have set-up ‘listening centers in their respective communities. These centers are established in Benue state Agatu, Guma, Gwer west,in, Plateau state, Jos south, Barkin-ladi and Riyom, Kaduna state Chikun, Jema’a and Kaduna south, Kano, Gezewa, Ungogo and Nassarawa.
